Tongwei has been ranked the world’s No. 1 solar PV manufacturer in the Terawatt PV 100, underscoring the company’s leadership across the global solar manufacturing value chain. In the Q1 2026 release, Tongwei secured the top position and earned the highest Platinum rating.

Developed by Terawatt PV Research, the ranking introduces a broader and more rigorous framework for assessing the solar industry. Covering the full PV manufacturing ecosystem, from polysilicon to modules, as well as key materials suppliers and equipment providers, it evaluates companies across three dimensions that matter directly to the market: production scale, financial strength, and corporate transparency.
Tongwei’s No. 1 position reflects the strength of a company built on manufacturing depth, operational resilience, and long-term discipline. According to the ranking analysis, Tongwei’s leading position is driven primarily by its dominant status in polysilicon and solar cells, strengthened by its growing module business and strong performance in corporate transparency — strengths that translate into greater supply assurance, more consistent delivery, and stronger long-term confidence for partners worldwide.
Scale remains central to that leadership. According to InfoLink Consulting, Tongwei has ranked No. 1 globally in solar cell shipments for nine consecutive years and remained in the global top five for module shipments for three consecutive years. That scale strengthens Tongwei’s integrated manufacturing platform and enables the company to support customers worldwide with dependable delivery, manufacturing consistency, and bankable strength.
Tongwei’s standing is further reinforced by resilience. Since entering the solar sector in 2006, the company has continued to invest in capacity, technology, and quality through multiple market cycles. That consistency has helped make Tongwei a trusted long-term partner for customers, developers, and investors operating in an industry where reliability matters as much as scale.
Transparency is another defining advantage. As supply-chain scrutiny continues to intensify, ESG disclosure, traceability, and corporate openness have become increasingly important to procurement, financing, and project execution. Tongwei issued its first standalone ESG report back in 2020 and has released a growing set of sustainability policies, ratings and international initiatives on its website in recent years, giving stakeholders greater visibility and confidence across the value chain.
Terawatt PV 100 sets a new benchmark for the global solar industry. For Tongwei, this recognition validates its leadership at the heart of global solar manufacturing. It also sends a clear signal to the market: scale, stability, and transparency remain the qualities that matter most in choosing a long-term manufacturing partner.
