A Pakistani taxi driver still working as missiles rained above Dubai became the first civilian casualty of Iran’s strikes on the city.
Debris from a drone that had been intercepted by Dubai’s aerial defences fell and struck his vehicle as it crossed a bridge.
Smoke from the flaming wreckage could be seen billowing as traffic continues to move through the plush Al Barsha neighbourhood.
The Consulate General of Pakistan in Dubai confirmed it was coordinating with local authorities to assist the driver’s family and facilitate repatriation.
He has not been identified yet.
The Al Barsha neighbourhood is one of the most popular areas for tourists with the Mall of the Emirates and Ski Dubai,attracting families from around the world.
More than 100 people have been injured across the UAE from debris,explosions,and related incidents.

Another two people had been killed and 12 wounded in a strike on a residential neighbourhood in Saudi Arabia with fears it could bring the Arab nation into the conflict.
Those killed were of Indian and Bangladeshi nationalities,the civil defence agency said in a post on X.
Iran’s Revolutionary Guard said earlier that it targeted radar systems in locations that included Saudi’s al-Kharj,where the deaths were reported.
Iran began hitting targets in Israel as well as US military assets in Gulf states after the initial US-Israeli strikes on February 28 and the killing of Iranian Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei.
