A young diver who vanished in Morocco was found alive two days later after drifting nearly 100 miles to another continent.
The unnamed 23-year-old was spotted floating in the sea by the crew of a merchant ship heading to Portugal, who called a helicopter rescue team.
The medics hoisted the diver to safety 24 nautical miles off Caleta de Velez on Spain’s Costa del Sol.
He was only wearing a wetsuit and showed signs of hypothermia, but was in stable condition after reaching the hospital.
The helicopter team released dramatic photos of the moment he was rescued from the merchant ship.

On arrival,he was semi-conscious and suffering from dehydration.
The survivor later told police he had been diving with friends off Fnideq,on Morocco‘s Mediterranean coast,on August 20,when currents swept him away from the group.
When he resurfaced,he had lost sight of his group – and the tide carried him off into open water.
By the time he was rescued,he had drifted 96 miles across the sea.
Once he heals,he’ll be taken to Morocco and reunited with his friends and family.

They were saved by fishermen off Bintan Island, some 100 km south of where the group disappeared.
