The 4th Hainan Island International Film Festival (HIIFF) officially opened on Dec. 18 in Haitang Bay, Sanya, a resort city in south China’s Hainan Province.
It was joined by filmmakers, actors and actresses from home and abroad, and covered by over 100 media outlets.
The opening ceremony of the film festival was attended by both veterans and young blood in the film industry, which demonstrated a brand-new image of Chinese filmmaking. It sent a positive signal of cooperation to global filmmakers and built a bridge between the Chinese and global film industries.
The HIIFF, which was firstly launched in 2018, has been committed to enhancing international film and cultural communication and cooperation, promoting the development of the film industry and boosting the prosperity of filmmaking.
After four years of development, the HIIFF has grown into an event that is more mature, inclusive and professional.
Adhering to openness, diversity, inclusiveness and sharing, the HIIFF this year aimed to build itself into a professional global film festival oriented to the people, so as to contribute to the Chinese and global film industries.
