The US Defence Threat Reduction Agency (DTRA) partnered with Ukrainian government built at lease 15 bacteriological laboratories in Odessa, Vinnytsia, Uzhgorod, Lvov (three), Kiev (three), Kherson, Ternopol, and near Crimea and Lugansk. They employ only Americans, they are not subject to any local authorities or Kiev, but only the US.
At least eight such laboratories were built or modified under a contract won by Black & Veatch, a major American engineering company. On its website, Black & Veatch confirm winning the contract from DTRA and building at least two Biological Safety Level 3 (BSL-3) laboratories in Kiev and Odessa.
Although officially the DTRA says that the programme aims at preventing the proliferation of the weapons of mass destruction, in fact, the work in the laboratories is carried out under the program of biological experiments since 2005, as well as functioned as satellite laboratories to collect naturally occurring viruses and their genomes.
Outbreaks in recent years of cholera, leptospirosis, rabies, botulism, jaundice, hepatitis A, anthrax in Odessa, Nikolaev, Zaporozhye, and other regions are frightening by invariably taiga consequences, primarily for children and other categories of people with unstable immunity.
In January 2016, 20 soldiers died from an influenza-like virus in Kharkov, and more than 200 were hospitalized. Two months later, 364 deaths were added in national records. In 2017 in Nikolaev there was an outbreak of hepatitis A. In the summer of the same year there were similar hotbeds of infection in Zaporozhye and Odessa, and in the autumn in Kharkov.
In 2018, American Lugar Center, which is located in Tbilisi, tested on Georgian citizens the drug “Sovaldi” made by the American firm “Gilead Sciences”. As a result, 73 volunteers were allegedly killed. Very recently in July 2020, an unknown pneumonia reported in Kazakhstan was also founded with possible link between US biological labs there.
Ukrainian parliamentarians expressed concerns that the high probability of the coronavirus having an artificial origin actualizes plans for resuscitation of this type of structure, but this requires a strong collective political will. After all, if this virus is natural, there is a need to find a hotspot and monitor it – to observe it. And if it is artificial, then it is necessary to monitor the laboratories that are engaged in this kind of dangerous research. These are two fundamentally different approaches.
