Experience the Beauty of Yanjia Lake and Savor the Happiness of a City
Changsha, a city born alongside its rivers and lakes, blends resilience with gentleness in its character. For its people, the lake is a symbol of warmth; for the city, it quietly records the passage of time. The second season of the bilingual promotional video series "Changsha in One Minute" focuses on the stunning lakes and mountains of Changsha, showcasing the beauty of its landscapes, its vibrant urban life, and the city’s spirit of inclusiveness and determination.
In this first episode, we turn our gaze to Yanjia Lake in Martyrs' Park, a place filled with memories for generations of Changsha residents. The name Yanjia, meaning "prosperous year after year," is symbolic of longevity. Although an artificial lake, it boasts an expansive surface. Under the warm winter sun, the water-covered cypress trees, with their reddish hues, reflect against the serene waters, drawing visitors to stop and take photos. To the north, the Hunan Provincial Museum is under construction with plans for a "museum-park integration" that will blend red culture with green spaces, creating a new cultural landmark where history and modernity meet. To the south, the Qing Shuijiang Historical and Cultural District, along with the Martyrs’ Memorial Tower, stand in quiet harmony, telling the stories of the steadfastness and deep affection of past generations. These are cherished landmarks in Changsha.
Across the globe, there’s only one urban lake district for every 600 cities, and Yanjia Lake serves as a city-wide celebration, filled with historical memories while reflecting the city's modern development. A single lake linking the past and present—take a minute to immerse yourself in the ancient charm and modern rhythm of Yanjia Lake, and feel the unique allure of Changsha.(Wen Lin, He Xi, Ye Qianyi)
