The 2024 International Forum on Higher Education, jointly hosted by China Association of Higher Education and Beijing Institute of Technology, was held in Beijing, China.

The Ministry of Education of China has always adhered to the concept of openness to the world and attached great importance to international cooperation and exchanges in education, said Chen Jie, Vice Minister of Education .

Wu Yan, another Vice Minister of Education, expressed that Chinese universities are willing to strengthen mutual learning and sharing with universities worldwide,work together to cultivate talent, and jointly create a favorable environment.

Shahbaz Khan, Director and Representative of the UNESCO Regional Office for East Asia, Congratulated on the convening of the forum.

Focusing on the conference theme of "Scientific and Technological Innovation and Sustainable Development," Lin Huiqing, Vice President of China Association of Higher Education, delivered a keynote speech titled "Fully Leverage the Leading and Driving Role of Scientific and Technological Innovation to Achieve High-Quality and Sustainable Development of Higher Education."

The forum also included supporting events such as China-US Higher Education Dialogue, China-Europe Higher Education Dialogue, and International Young Scientist Dialogue, inviting representatives from the Ministry of Education of China, the Training Division of the Ministry of Higher Education of Cuba, China Association of Higher Education, the European University Association, the ASEAN University Network, the Association of Arab Universities, the Association of African Universities, the Association of Indian Universities, the Latin American and the Caribbean Space for Higher Education, the Universities South Africa, as well as Tsinghua University, Peking University, Renmin University of China, The Hong Kong Polytechnic University, University of Macau, Stanford University, University of California, National University of Singapore, University College London, Technical University of Berlin, and University of Barcelona, among others, to engage in discussions on topics .

The "Beijing Initiative on Personnel Training and Scientific and Technological Innovation" released during the forum .

During the forum, Lin Huiqing and other representatives met with the Salvadoran delegation for higher education, exchanging views on cooperation and cultural exchanges in higher education between China and El Salvador. Universities such as Beijing Institute of Technology signed cooperation memoranda and exchange student agreements with universities in the United States, Cuba, El Salvador, and South Korea.
